THE LAND

Experience the beauty of the desert, coastline, and sacred sites of Sonora.

Overview

Join us for an immersive journey to the ancestral lands of the Comcaac (Seri) people in Sonora, Mexico — the original guardians of Bufo alvarius. This is a rare opportunity to learn directly from the culture, experience the desert and the sea, and gain a deeper understanding of the toad, its natural habitat, and the traditional knowledge that has protected this medicine for generations.

You will spend time with Comcaac elders — including Tata Chapo Barnett, Tata Pancho, and/or Tata Toro Canelo — receiving teachings on traditional Bufo extraction (milking) techniques, ceremonial context, and ancestral wisdom passed down through lived experience, not books.

This is not a retreat for spectators. It is a cultural immersion rooted in humility, presence, and reciprocity.
